Peanut allergy caused my acne

1

I am a 41 year old female, and I have had moderate/severe acne since I was 11. After suffering with this for many years (nothing the doctors prescribed would help), I discovered that eating peanuts or anything cooked in peanut oil would cause me to have severe breakouts within 2 or 3 days.

I highly suspect that other foods irritate the acne as well (such as sunflower seeds, cashews, almonds), but so far I have not been able to totally narrow down exactly which other foods are causing it.

I am so tired of hearing that diet does not affect acne; that I just need to wash my face better; and all the other misconceptions that doctors seem to have. Thank you for your site and the information you are providing.

This information you have provided is very simple and noteworthy! Excellent website!

I have gone to several dermatologists and half of them do not have the right idea of what they are talking about. Peanuts have affected my slight acne also. But, I only notice a break out sometimes after I eat peanuts, peanut butter, etc. I am a tad confused, if I should stop peanuts all together. I also take spironolactone for acne, 50 mg. per day. That has helped a lot.
