Cutting dairy cleared my cystic acne
by Brittney
I have suffered from acne for several years. I have gone through countless topicals and numerous antibiotics. I have tried the zeno zit zapper thing. I have tried proactiv, and birth control and nothing had a lasting effect.
I knew that I was lactose/dairy sensitive, because whenever I ate anything with heavy cream (like ice cream), bad things would happen to my poor intestines.
The severity of my acne changed, sometimes it was ok, but sometimes I didn't even want to leave the house. I don't have a large number of pimples, but the pimples I do have suck. They are large, red, extremely painful, and last for weeks. I think this is cystic acne, I'm not sure.
I started to notice a link between the amounts of dairy products I was eating, and the severity of my acne. I thought it was because of all the hormones they give cows and chicken to maximize production, and antibiotics to make up for their horrific, disgusting living conditions.
I started to buy organic, and that helped, I would say 25% of my problem.
Recently, I stopped all dairy consumption, and my face is completely clear. I have not had one new pimple, and that is coming from someone who always had AT LEAST 2-3 of those large painful zits.
Not being able to eat dairy is inconvenient, but they are coming out with a lot of substitutes.
Soy products are sometimes an acquired taste, but you get used to it. I don't care for meat at all, and I can't have dairy, so I have a hard time getting all my nutrients. But I would rather watch what I eat, than have acne.

Congratulations for getting over your acne.
I'd just like to point out that soy products are often not much better than dairy products. Soy is also very allergenic and can cause acne to many people.
Rice and various nut milks are the best substitute for dairy products.
