3 Tips to prevent acneYou managed to get rid of your pimples. But as you know acne often comes back. Now that you are clear it's time to focus on acne prevention to make sure you remain clear. Use these three simple and easy to understand tips to make sure you remain clear for the rest of your life. Don't trust creams and lotions to prevent acne Most acne prevention tips are about what you apply on your skin. But topical treatments, such as creams and lotions, are severely overrated. Despite common advice acne has little to do with bacteria and sebum. They are merely the last steps in the disease process that ends up in acne. Sebum, bacteria and blocked pores are a result of imbalances within your body (see what causes acne page). Without going into too much detail these imbalances trigger the skin to produce too much sebum, skin cells diving rapidly (which means more dead skin cells), and acne-causing bacteria multiplying in your skin pores. Trying to prevent acne with creams and lotions is a short-term solution as they do not address these internal conditions. No matter how many bacteria you slay there's always more to come. That's why acne almost always comes back. True acne prevention is an inside out job To make sure you remain clear for life you have to correct the imbalances that lead to acne. Unfortunately there is no one-size-fits-all solution to this. The human body is a complicated, holistic system. Meaning that everything is interconnected and affects one other. Some people get acne because of food allergies. Others because of digestive problems. While someone else may suffer from liver problems that lead to acne. Luckily our bodies have amazing self-healing powers. Your job is to activate and support the healing efforts of your body, see (Acne 101 at the end of the page for details). You can do this by taking an honest look at your diet and lifestyle. Identify your weak links and work on improving them. For example one person may have a very healthy diet but is lazy when it comes to exercise. One may not sleep enough. Other person might be active but at the same time smokes and drinks heavily. Healing is a process that happens over time. Don't expect an instant change. It may take quite some time for your body to heal itself and clear acne. While waiting for this to happen... Use salt to stop a zit before it pops Salt is very effective at killing bacteria. In fact salt kill everything it comes in contact with - even you if you eat too much of it. And the best thing? Bacteria won't develop resistance to salt. Here's how to prevent acne with salt. It's important to do this immediately as you notice a pimple coming up. After a pimple has developed this tip is almost useless. So immediately as see a new pimple apply salt water on it with a cotton bud. For best results soak a bid in salt water and hold it on a pimple for 2 to 3 minutes. Dilute as much salt into the water as possible. After a certain point the water reaches a saturation point and any additional salt just remains at the bottom. There's no reason you couldn't have acne free skin and healthy complexion for the rest of your life. These three principles get you started on the right direction.
